洛阳市工人师傅们、洛阳市民众亲人们：
你们好？
我是赵东民的父亲，首先深深感谢在我儿遭遇不公平法律打击时，洛阳市工人师傅们和民众对我儿的案子给予的密切的关注和深厚的援助，你们不畏风险亲临西安市质疑司法机关的不公，捐赠大量钱款，抚慰我们全家深受创伤的心灵，作为一个退休的老工人和我全家，深深感到阶级兄弟姐妹们的伟大的胸怀和情意，我代表东民、代表东民不幸去世的妻子永霞、代表我的老伴、代表我的两个孙子，代表我的亲戚们，向洛阳市的人民致以崇高地敬意和衷心的感谢！
最近，我得知洛阳市工人师傅和市民自己出资购置的唱红歌的器材无端被人偷盗，莫名奇妙的丢失，而带头唱红歌的王先锋等同志竟然遭到行政拘留处罚，作为有50多年党龄的老党员我实在无法理解，我难过地疑问，怎么猖狂污蔑毛主席的人横行无忌，而歌唱毛主席的老百姓反而遭到打击处罚？怎么一切都颠倒了？我们的国家到底是怎么了？法律的尊严哪里去了？我认为公安机关应该迅速破案，归还群众自己的器材，并立即释放王先锋等同志。
本来我想亲自到洛阳市表示对你们的关切和支持，但近来我身体不适，不能如愿以往，现用公开信表达我的心情。祝愿王先锋等同志早同日恢复自由，祝愿洛阳市唱红歌活动越搞越好。
